In a bid to enhance public awareness about cardiac rhythm disorders, the Cardiology Society of India (CSI) and Vigocare organized an event in Kondapur, Hyderabad’s Botanical Garden on June 14th, 2023. The agenda for the day also included the importance of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), a critical tool in managing cardiac emergencies. The occasion was amplified by the presence of Sri Arekapudi Gandhi Garu, MLA from Serilingampally, Hyderabad, a testament to the importance of government support in public health initiatives.
The event was inaugurated by Sri Arekapudi Gandhi Garu, who underscored the significance of health awareness initiatives. This set the stage for Dr. Ramachandra, Senior Consultant Cardiologist and President of CSI Telangana, who elucidated the crowd about arrhythmias, driving home the necessity of early detection for improved outcomes.
The event saw the donation of four AEDs by CSI Telangana, highlighting the need for such devices in public spaces. Attendees were further given hands-on training sessions on how to use AEDs, making this awareness event also a practical learning experience. This combination of knowledge dissemination and practical training can potentially turn bystanders into life-savers during cardiac emergencies.
