Orbis and PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital Launch Green Vision Center for Sustainable Eye Care in Satara

Orbis, a global non-governmental organization, has partnered with PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital to inaugurate the Green Vision Center (GVC) in Satara, Maharashtra. The center’s main objective is to provide sustainable and environmentally responsible primary eye care services to the community.

The GVC utilizes solar-powered electricity, energy-efficient electrical fixtures and appliances, and digital data management to provide quality optical services in a sustainable manner. It also aims to address the long-standing issue of data management in healthcare by deploying digital data management software for better patient care and reducing paper use.

The collaboration between PBMA’s H.V. Desai Eye Hospital and Orbis has been instrumental in reaching out to communities and providing ophthalmic treatments. The Green Vision Centers are a crucial step in propelling communities towards uninterrupted access to eye health services, while contributing to sustainable development goals. The GVC in Satara is designed to instill the concept of sustainability among citizens and drive positive change in the region.
