Signia Ignites Movement to Eradicate Hearing Loss Stigma

Signia has unveiled a pivotal campaign this month, focusing on eliminating the stigma around hearing loss and championing the cause of comprehensive ear and hearing care. Coinciding with World Hearing Day’s theme, “Changing mindsets: Let’s make ear and hearing care a reality for all,” the initiative marks a significant step by Signia in India to confront the challenges posed by untreated hearing loss. This condition, affecting millions globally, remains underreported, largely due to societal misconceptions and lack of awareness.

“Too often, individuals neglect their hearing health due to societal misconceptions and stigma surrounding hearing aids,” remarked Avinash Pawar, CEO and MD of WS Audiology India. The campaign, themed #HearTheChange, includes educational efforts, social media engagement, and community outreach to emphasize the critical importance of early hearing loss detection and intervention.

Signia’s endeavor seeks to mobilize a broad spectrum of influencers, from celebrities to healthcare professionals and organizations, to amplify the message of hearing health and dismantle the barriers to seeking assistance. Through this campaign, Signia aims to inspire a shift towards a more inclusive and understanding society, where the use of hearing aids is destigmatized and accepted as a normal part of life for those who need them.
