Lifegate Pharmaceuticals introduces UV-C Germicidal Light in India

Lifegate Pharmaceuticals, a leader in safety products, has introduced UV-C Germicidal Light in India – Nova Telescope and Nova Mini. Priced at INR 29,500 the Nova Telescope disinfects spaces up to 600-800 sq. ft. The Nova Mini disinfects areas up to 150 sq. ft. priced at INR 5,999. Both these products are readily available here with easy pay EMI options.

UV-C light has proven to be an easy-to-use, plug and play device with no installation and a cost-effective way to sanitise spaces with large footfalls and interactions. Both products are portable and lightweight; the Nova Telescope comes with wheels making it easy to move to areas that require more disinfection. On the other hand, Nova Mini is light and can be carried around anywhere, making it perfect for smaller spaces and households.

Within a span of 30 minutes, Lifegate’s UVC light works to disinfect the surfaces and air. Wavelengths in the photobiological ultraviolet spectral band known as the “UV-C,” from 200 to 280 nanometers (nm), have been shown to be the most effective for disinfection. The light rays that pass through the air and damage the DNA & RNA and deactivate viruses, bacteria, spores, and even coronavirus. The process enables the inactivation of microbes by causing mutations and/or cell death and failure to reproduce. Lifegate Pharma’s Nova range operates in an optimum range of 253.7 nm which falls in the upper spectrum of this wavelength and thereby has increased disinfection capabilities vs other more common disinfectant solutions and methods. Furthermore, these lights efficiently break down keratin and cysteine compounds in the air that comprise 80% of airborne dust i.e., human dead skin and hair particles, improving overall air quality.

Lifegate Pharma’s Nova range has all standard certifications and comes equipped with a highly competent remote control that enables the user to select dosage and disinfection duration and a motion sensor. In addition, the devices come with high-tech motion sensors that immediately disarms the light upon detecting any human or animal movement. As an additional precautionary measure, the kit also includes protective eye goggles keeping in mind the risks, direct contact can cause for humans, plants or animals. This accessory sets Lifegate Pharma apart in terms of its safety standards.

With sanitisation as a significant concern during the pandemic, these UV-C lights are a low-cost and practical solution to irradicate airborne virus in a dense population country like ours. FDA has determined that UVC lights produce a germicidal effect. They are intended to augment disinfection of health care environmental surfaces are regulated as Class II devices. They are evaluated and included in the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)’s Contaminant Candidate List (CCL) and National Institute of Health, USA[1].
