RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre Organised Maha Arogya Shivir for More than 1.1 Million Patients

Maharashtra's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bhairavnath Sugar Industries, and the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre medical camp

The Vishnu Pooja Festival in Pandharpur, Maharashtra, was a scene of a remarkable event. Maharashtra’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, in association with Bhairavnath Sugar Industries and the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, set a Guinness World Record by treating over 1.1 million patients in a free medical camp.

This successful event shines a spotlight on the power of public-private partnerships in healthcare, especially in a country where access to quality healthcare remains a challenge. As per the World Bank, India had only 2.4 doctors per 1,000 people in 2020.

Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, the President of the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, spearheaded the initiative. His unwavering commitment to public health, visible in the organization of over 29,000 medical camps serving 35 million individuals, sets a high benchmark for others in the healthcare sector.
